The Sunday XI sponsored by Stamfords travelled to Nawton Grange and bowled their hosts out for 110 after losing the toss and being asked to field. David Fairhurst (1-18) and George Room keeping things tight early on applied the pressure and allowed Oli Tong (3-13) and Sam Thompson (1-20) to benefit and reap the rewards for some excellent bowling. John Dey (3-13) bowled a masterful spell of spin bowling reminiscent of a young Shane Warne as picked up a few wickets of his own. Max Lovelock also bowled well without reward and Alfie Whitwell (2-6) completed the round up of wickets taking his first senior wicket.
Several wickets fell in the PCC reply with only Alex Tong (12) from the top order reaching double figures before Und 15 Sam Thompson (48*) showed his all round ability with a fantastic unbeaten innings to guide the team home alongside his skipper Joss Room (1*) to give the Sunday XI their first win and a maximum ten points.
The Sunday XI have a free week next Sunday and return to action on Sunday 30th May with a home match against Stamford 4ths.
