Batting first in their match at Heslington the Division 3 Foss Colts side set their hosts a decent target when posting 137-8 from their 20 overs. John Fiorentini (64*) hit an unbeaten half century to anchor the innings, with Austin Bailey (26) also contributing useful runs in a well played knock.
Heslington kept up with the required run rate throughout their chase thanks to a half century from their keeper Stondage (78) who also shook off a nasty blow to the eye from Freddie Forman's bowling. Crucially he was caught though in the penultimate over trying to win the game, Riley Tinson (0-19) taking two catches two back up an impressive bowling display. Forman (2-25), George Room (2-32) and Max Lovelock (1-27) all with wickets too and bowled well to keep the game tight. Fiorentini (3-5) bowled two overs at the end including the last with the hosts needing two off the last ball to win and picking up his third wicket to secure a hard fought win and another three points for the Colts.
Next week the Colts are back in action at home and host Selby Academy.
