The 4th XI sponsored by A & M Removals visited Wheldrake, with a 5 year losing streak against the opposition.
Wheldrake batted first and despite good bowling from all the attack, posted a significant 231/3, with skipper Bell getting 100 not out and only Jonny Hollingsworth with 2-60 and Olly Tong 1-19 getting wickets. U15 leg spinner Cole Dobbins had 2 dropped in consecutive balls robbing him of his first Senior wicket and George Sellers on debut bowled with real vigour. Dave Fairhurst seeing Bell missed at Mid On, albeit a very difficult chance, whilst on 30, was perhaps the turning point in the game. A very tough day in the field for our youngsters, who tried hard to the end when they could have become somewhat dispirited.
In response Pock batted out the 40 overs and finished with 99/9, Skipper Lee Dobbins with 19, Alex Tong with 16 and Olly Tong finishing 23 Not out, the only batters to reach double figures against very consistent bowling.
The 4s return on Sunday 7th July away to Church Fenton.
