Pock 3s were on the road on Saturday, looking to put on a good show and take some points from a solid 1s side in Thorpe Willoughby.

After some questionable map reading from Young Joe Wilson, the team arrived in plenty of time.
Skipper Smith won the toss! After the initial shock, he decided to bat first on a wicket that looked ok at first glance.

Joe Wilson opened up with his skipper and both were going along nicely, on a wicket that did offer plenty to the bowlers. An opening partnership of 97 saw Joe make a second 50 in as many weeks, eventually falling for 59.
Wickets did keep tumbling but after solid innings from Elliott Morrell in his first bat for Pocklington, Sam Thompson and Max lovelock, all scoring in the 20s Pock reached 187.

Tea was taken and after the lads disappointment of 2 weeks ago at Thorner still fresh in their minds, they were relieved to see pizza rolls, chocolate brownie and sandwiches that had filling in them. Less pleased to see the bus stop being handed around…

Back to it in the field Pock went and despite the energy and noise being high, the bowling was a touch short and after 11 overs, TW found themselves 80/1. However the Pock lads stuck to it and 2 wickets for Matt smith (2/24), followed by a wicket each for George, Elliott, Sam and Dave F meant 2 bonus points were achieved.

Credit to the team for sticking to the task, win or lose, they work hard and find that balance between winning at all costs and enjoying the game.

Next week sees the 3s take on league leaders Drax at Home.
