Pocklington 3s sponsored by Stamford’s were on need of a victory last Saturday and were determined to use home advantage and determination to get them there against Selby’s 3rd XI

Pocklington produced solid opening spells from Riley Tinson (0-34) who was very unlucky to be wicketless and Lucas Tanikal (4-66) who stuck to the task and was deservedly rewarded.
At 95-5 and 126-6 the away side were wobbling but a century from young Harper saw them reach a respectable albeit slightly under par 196-6.
Alex Ashby (2-37) once again bowling well.

Discussions were had over tea and it was decided that partnerships were the key on a wicket that couldn’t help but produce runs as long as the batters could stay around!

An unfortunate start for Pocklington saw Rich Readman fall early but a solid 100 partnership between promising youngster Joe Wilson (25) and a slightly older gent in Skipper Wes Smith (71) got Pocklington off to a solid start.
James foley with a well worked contribution of 27 together with promising all-rounder Lucas Tanikal scoring an unbeaten 34 off just 28 balls saw the 3’s reach the target with a couple of overs to spare to scoop a valuable 10 points.
Next Saturday sees the 3’s on the road to Thorner Mexborough in search of another 10 points to solidify a mid table place.
