Pocklington 2nds sponsored by Stamfords were away last weekend travelling to face Sherburn Eversley and their hosts surprisingly opted to bat first on a pitch that had plenty to offer the bowlers.
Pock took full advantage of this and had their hosts in trouble from the start as they lost wickets at regular intervals going from 22-4 to 87-8 and then finally all out for 145 in the 28th over, they were indebted to a half century from Kang (67) who helped his team to set something of a score. Lewis Chaplin (4-36), Freddie Hara (3-49) and Max Wilson (3-44) with the wickets.
Pocks reply was stop start as Ian Scott (11), Neal Jackson (15) and James Fletcher (0) all departed with the score 59-3, the score kept moving thanks to John Chaplin (62) who hit a match winning half century but after he was out along with James Saltmer (3) and Joss Room (15) it was left to Lewis Chaplin (11*) and Max Wilson (15*) to see their team home for a four wicket win and another ten points added to the league total.
A good away win on a tricky pitch for the 2nds who are back in action at Burnby Lane next week and host Ledsham whom they will be looking to put up a much better showing against following their early season heavy defeat.
