Pocklington 2nds sponsored by Stamfords were visiting Goole 2nds on Saturday and chose to bowl first after winning the toss.
With a much changed team this week the seconds had a tough game against a decent Goole team who hit 246-5 with their opener Smith (100) hitting an unbeaten century. Riley Tinson (2-67), Freddie Forman (1-39), Max Wilson (1-36) and Joss Room (1-21) showing he still has the magic touch with the wickets.
The reply looked well placed when at 106-1 before a middle order collapse which saw the team finish on 179-8 still a few shy of any points, captain Ian Scott (107*) carried his bat for a well played second century of the day but he lacked support as the team finished second best.
The 2nds will look to get back to winning ways when hosting Wheldrake at Burnby Lane next weekend.
