Pocklington 2nds sponsored by Stamfords were back on the road and faced Hillam & Monk Fryston and after losing the toss were asked to bat first.
Scoring wasn't easy on a low wicket and Martin Stables (14) and John Fiorentini (8) were both out early, captain Ian Scott (19) and Josh Tanikal rebuilt the innings before Tanikal was caught just shy of a half century. James Saltmer (5) was next out with the score 102-5, Will Atkinson (32) played well and helped move the score onto 152 before being bowled himself by another low shooting ball. Dan Croft (69*) and Lewis Chaplin (43) then put on a 103 run partnership which lasted until the final over until Chaplin was caught, Croft remaining unbeaten with a half century as they finished on 265-7.
Hillam started quickly in their reply and reached 50 off only 7 overs before Atkinson (4-19) picked up the vital wicket of quick scoring skipper Edwards (32), from here things started to unravel for the hosts, with Atkinson picking up two more including a great catch from Riley Tinson. Geoff Woodward (2-34) picked up his customary wickets in the middle overs alongside Tanikal (3-39). Atkinson picked up one more with another good diving catch from Croft quickly followed by Tinson (1-37) who finished the game off as Hillam were bowled out for 164.
Another useful ten points added to the league total for the 2nds in Division 2 Ebor, they are back in action at home on Monday and host Hundhill Hall at Burnby Lane.
