Pocklington 1sts sponsored by Stamfords hosted North Cave last weekend at Burnby Lane in a match that the team really needed to be claiming all ten points in. After winning the toss, captain Dan Littlewood inserted the visitors and the team set about making inroads with two early wickets with Freddie Forman (5-47) striking twice. Cave fought back though and with several players contributing were able to post a score of 192 before being bowled out in the last over. Dave Chaplin (4-25) with a brilliant middle innings spell helped restrict the visitors whilst Forman returned to make it a first five wicket haul in the first team, just rewards for his good bowling in the 1sts in recent works since coming up from the 2nds. Alex Downey (1-53) took the other wicket.

Pock lost a couple of early wickets of their own in reply and found themselves 22-2 before a 107 run partnership between Littlewood (54) and Cameron Mitchell (63) took the game away from Cave with both hitting half centuries before being caught. John Fiorentini (23*) and Will Atkinson (22*) then saw the game home for Pock in the 36th over to claim a much needed ten points.

Next week Pock are making a short away trip to face league leaders Dunnington.
