Pocklington 1sts sponsored by Stamfords were in away action against Acomb 2nds on Saturday and were invited to bat first by their hosts after losing the toss.

On a good batting surface and one short boundary Pock made the most of the decision when setting a first innings score of 292-9, a high score of the season for the 1sts in a well played innings. Dan Littlewood (101) hit a brilliant century against his former club and was supported well by Dave Chaplin (82) who hit a quick fire half century including fourteen boundaries, Harry Snelling (39) also scored well early on to add to the total.

An early breakthrough was going to be crucial for Pock in Acombs reply and unfortunately they could not take their chance when Holmes (138) was dropped on 20. Along with his opening partner Tute (143*) they put on an opening stand of 275 with both hitting centuries to put the game to bed, Will Atkinson (1-16) eventually picked up the sole wicket but the hosts carried on to ease to a 9 wicket win to climb closer to Pock in the battle to avoid relegation.
