Pocklington 1sts sponsored by Stamfords were on the road again this weekend and travelled away to face Pickering and were asked to bat first after losing the toss.
The hosts took full advantage of the conditions and had the 1s in trouble at 47-6 with only Dave Chaplin (14) reaching double figures in the top six. Neal Jackson (24) and then skipper Joel Taylor (75) offered some resistance, the skipper in particular with five 4s and six 6s in his half century. However when both fell the remaining batsmen failed to add anything else of significance and Pock were all out for 164 in the 42nd over.
Pickering started well in their run chase but Pock were right in the game at the midpoint with the hosts 115-5 with wickets for Alex Downey (1-30), Dan Littlewood (2-61) & Chaplin (2-40), Hill (33*) & skipper Harland (15*) saw their team home though to win by five wickets and deny the 1sts any points as they fell to defeat for the first time this season.
Next weekend the 1sts have a double header first hosting league favourites Dunnington on Saturday before travelling to Clifton Alliance 2nds on bank holiday Monday.
