It was a run fest at Burnby Lane on Saturday with over 1000 runs scored across both pitches which shows the incredible work that is being done by Neal Jackson in preparing such fantastic surfaces for our members to play on.

On the main pitch the 1sts were hosting Scarborough 2s and were asked to bowl first after losing the toss. Prince Bedi (109) scored an impressive century but was fortunate to get a reprieve from the umpire early in his innings when stepping away from the stumps after Andy Forman had delivered his ball and hit the target. He was supported by Carver (94) who helped to set at target o 311, Billy Higgins (5-62) leading the attack for Pock and was well supported by Dan Croft (2-59).

Pock were in a familiar position at 90-4 before another partnership between Charlie Lambert (59) and Dan Croft (68) put us back in the game with both hitting half centuries. Unfortunately both were out late on trying to push on towards gaining some points and the lower order folded rather quickly eventually getting bowled out for 214.

Another big game next week for the 1sts who will be looking to bounce back and climb the table away at South Holderness.
