Pocklington Cricket Club is delighted to announce a major new sponsorship partner with local company Bond International, beginning with a generous contribution that has funded the construction of a brand-new patio terrace at the front of the clubhouse.

In recognition of both the significant contribution and the historical connection the Bond family has with the club, the new outdoor space has been officially named The Reg Bond Terrace, in honour of Bond International founder Reg Bond. Reg established the business in Pocklington in 1966, with the company continuing to thrive under the leadership of his two sons, Charlie and Greg. As one of the UK's leading tyre wholesalers, they sell an average of one tyre every 3.5 seconds. Creating employment for the local and surrounding communities was a source of great pride for Reg, and that commitment has continued under the stewardship of his sons. He was equally passionate about supporting the local sporting community, a commitment that has continued to grow through the company's ongoing investment in grassroots sport.

The sponsorship holds particular significance for Charlie, now CEO of Bond International, whose connection with the club stretches back to his formative years. He began his cricketing journey representing Pocklington Cricket Club at junior level before progressing into senior cricket, playing for both the 1st and 2nd XI, as well as the club's midweek teams.

The partnership extends far beyond the new terrace. Bond International has also agreed an initial three-year sponsorship of Pocklington Cricket Club’s thriving junior section.
Thanks to the sponsorship, every junior member has received a free club playing shirt for the first time in the club’s history, proudly sponsored by Churchill Tyres, Bond International’s own tyre brand. Manufactured by one of the world’s 17th largest tyre producers, Churchill Tyres was created to provide motorists with high-quality, affordable tyres, combining excellent value with dependable performance.
